I focus on the patterns in the land in these conté drawing.
These are observational drawings of my local landscapes. I live in the Peak District and the hills really do slope in this way. I love the patterns and shapes that I see, and it is my job as an artist to stylise these, I am creating an interpretation, or impression. These drawings use chalk, charcoal, conté crayon, and felt pen.
